Lizzie has a super fun challenge for this weeks PTI MIM.
She shows us how to make a color slider card! And I could
not stop at making one card with her technique. Yesterday,
we lost my husband's 97 year old uncle whom I loved as my own uncle. I felt compelled to make my hubby's aunt a condolence card. So my first color slider card goes to her.
I "CAS-ed" Lizzie's card using the same Stemmed Statements stamp set tho used the pansy flower. I created my own background by embossing the Quadtrefoil background stamp and then watercoloring over it. I was a little disappointed because the slider covers up most of the pretty background. My background behind the pansy was sponged with Aqua Mist/Hawaiian Shores after masking off the flower colored with Copic Sketch markers.
My second card uses PTI Snow Globe (one of my favorites)...I felt like making a winter card. Guess this is my wish for summer to be over and we've only just started with the hot weather here in Southern California. The slider is made from watercolor paper as I wanted
to try watercoloring the image. Worked out okay tho I like the vibrant colors in the Pansy from using the Copic Sketch. I finished off the slider using washi tape to give some color to the frame. I really like the effect of the acetate layer on the image...gives the illusion of stained glass (neat)! THANK YOU LIZZIE!
2 adorable cards Susan! Love them both. The snow globe has got to be cased. Grandkids will love it! Beautiful settings on both too!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute cards Susan! I agree with Nancy that the snow globe one definitely needs to be CASE'd...my granddaughter would LOVE it!! :0)
ReplyDeleteAck, I love that snowman snowglobe with this technique! I think your flower is so lovely, TOO!! Great cards with this fun slider technique!
