PTI Transformation Tuesday #20

9/30/18
Michelle Leone transforms her feminine card into a beautiful
holiday card of a similar design.

I've selected an old holiday card made way back in September
2016 for a Create Along With Us challenge. At the time, I did not
own the PTI Snow Globe die and had to "think out of the box" to
come up with a similar look. I have since then purchased the die
but haven't had a chance to use it. With all the excitement of
Betsy's new holiday kit release tomorrow, I was inspired to make
a "real" shaker card. I also wanted to use Betsy's Tinsel & Tags kit
(my favorite thus far). Here's my transformation --

Supplies: PTI Tinsel & Tags kit/Snow Globe Sentiments, Snow Globe die, PTI Dye Ink (Pinefeather, Honey Nut, Terracotta Tile, Pure Poppy), Pebbles Winter Wonderland PP, Lawn Fawn Knock On Wood PP, Copic Sketch, faux snow, 4mm sequins, Stickles.

color with colored pencils and a white gell pen. I like the look. :)

PTI MIM #337: Packaging With Printed Papers

9/24/18
This weeks MIM is hosted by Melissa Philllips and she has a
very useful challenge for us today. She uses her talented
layering technique to create beautiful holiday tags/packaging!
It is none too soon to start up with the Christmas goodies.

I purchased Lizzie's cute Merry Mug set as I loved her cute
Christmas gift idea of hot chocolate mix adorned with the tag.
I used a die from Reverse Confetti for my packaging of the
cocoa mix. It pairs perfectly with my Merry Mug tag. I still need
to make a bunch of these little gifts. At least my sample is made;
just have to go into production. I CAS-ed Lizzie's color combo
she uses for her Merry Mug sample (love this combo for the holidays). The cocoa looks so yummy and real...makes me want
a cup right now. :P

Supplies: PTI Merry Mug, Tag Sale #4 Die, PTI Dye Ink (Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, Pinefeather, Cocoa Bean), Umbrella Crafts Dye Ink (Beach Sand), PTI Bitty Big Kraft
PP, Reverse Confetti Bag & Tag Creator.

PTI September 2018 Blog Hop

9/25/18
I just returned from a trip up to Seattle/Vancouver for the
past 10 days. Our kids ran a half-marathon in Seattle...my
hubby and I came along to baby-sit the grandkids. It was an
enjoyable trip, especially the lovely Fall-like temperatures. I
loved all the beautiful, green trees everywhere.
It's back to the PTI challenges this week! I selected the
festive tablecloth and pumpkins as inspiration for my card. I
wanted to use the Plaid Builder stencils to bring in the plaid
tablecloth. I made a couple of plaid designs, both of which
were very vibrant and way too much as a whole for what I had
in mind. Turned out that using the Pierced Feature Frames:
Ovals was just enough plaid. Of course, the rest is history...with
Betsy's Simply Gourd-eous set. My sentiment is a bit wonky (it
doesn't pay to work late at night). >.<

Supplies: PTI Simply Gourd-eous, Keep It Simple: Blessed, Pierced Feature Frames:
Oval Die, Plaid Builder Stencil Collection, PTI Dye Ink (Summer Sunrise, Terracotta Tile,
Orange Zest, Soft Stone, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, Spring Mist, Honey Nut),
Cuttlebug EF (herringbone), MFT Die-namics Fab Foliage, Lucy's Cards sequins (Fallen
Leaves).

MFT 2018 Card Design Superstar, Innovation Master

INNOVATION MASTER Category
3-D Shaker Snow Globe/Christmas Ornament

Supplies: MFT Snow Globe Card Kit, Die-namics Tags Builder Blueprints 6 (sentiment tag), MFT Tiny Heart Brights/Graphic Grid PP, Finnabair Snowflake Paste, plastic cloche (large), Stickles (red),
Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Snowflakes, misc. Christmas embellishments, faux snow.

I love creating miniature Christmas scenes into Christmas ornaments! Creating this one was a real challenge since I had to construct the entire house from just a die front. I made the base out of kraft cardstock first and then embellished it with some MFT PP. I even constructed a chimney! I created a snowman from Fimo and added the trees by doubling up on the die creating a tab with the tree trunks so they would stand up. There really wasn't any space for a sentiment so I added a tag from the Tag Builder Blueprints 6 set. I am pleased with how this ornament resulted. It was a JOY to make. :)

PTI Transformation Tuesday #18

9/6/18
Lizzie's card is up this week for Transformation Tuesday. Both of
Lizzie's cards are wonderful and we are always our worst critics.
That being said, I understand how she was annoyed with her
velum and BG. After making a couple of adjustments, Lizzie fixes
her 2nd card and it does look much cleaner (easier to see).

For my Transformation Tuesday card this week, I selected one I had done in July 2016. I forgot what the challenge was and I did
not even have my blog yet (that started in August 2016). No matter,
I love Nichole's Winter Woods set and it was my only bird(s) set
until this year when I added Betsy's Brushed Birds to my stash.
The original card design was good...and I've kept this. Like Lizzie,
I just changed up a couple of things (used those cute pudgy Brushed Birds, added the Pierced Feature Frame die) and brightened up my watercolor BG. I like both cards...

PTI MIM #335: Pop Up Slider Cards

9/4/18
We are challenged this week for MIM with Betsy's
engineering feat of constructing a pop-up slider card.
Her little pumpkin guy is just adorable and I love that
you pull on his legs to reveal a hidden sentiment.

I ran into some trouble constructing my pop-up slider
card with my cardstock getting bent behind the scenes.
I had to reinforce it and then I cut my top slot too big.
So my pop-up pumpkin stack did not stay centered...fixed
it with a bit of Scotch tape (again behind the scenes).  It's
not perfect but came out functional. I also added a top hat
to the small top pumpkin as he had a tiny little stem that was askew...and I needed something wider and more flat for the top tab. Cute idea but a bit labor intensive and not good to do late at night. >.<

Supplies: PTI Autumn Scarecrow/Sentiment Staples: Halloween/ Holiday Pin-Ups (hat), PTI Dye Ink (Green Parakeet, New Leaf), MFT Interactive Labels/Grassy Edges Stencil, MFT Dye Ink (Berrylicious), Die-namics Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frame Die, Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Leaves, Copic Sketch, DOI (candied apple, spiced marmalade, fossilized amber, walnut stain), Stickles (orange).

Single Stitch Line Oval Frames, PTI Text & Texture: Leaves,
PTI Dye Ink (Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel), Copic Sketch, Doodlebug fall friends PP.
I hate it when my sentiment stamps have a permanent bend in them right from the start! It makes it look like I stamped the sentiment crooked. >.<

PTI Transformation Tuesday #17

9/1/18
Lexi changes up her flowered pop-up box into a trendy emoji/
sentiments box! They are both wonderful... and I see that Lexi has grown addicted to creating pop-up boxes. It's contagious.

For my transformation, I've selected a card I made in January 2018 (MIM #310: Shadowed Sentiments with Lizzie Jones). My original card is very pretty and feminine. My intention was to create a masculine card using similar methods.
Here's what I came up with:

OLD
NEW
Supplies: PTI Cloche Quarters Summer Fillers, Window Works Die, Sun & Surf Stencil Collection, PTI Dye Ink (Harvest Gold, Aqua Mist, Honey Nut, Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy, Soft Stone), PTI Linen/Aqua Mist CS, MFT You Give Me Butterflies (sentiment).
