7/31/18 This weeks MIM challenge is hosted by Stephanie as she uses a die-cut and a stamped image to create texture in her background. Stephanie keeps her BG die-cut white with neutrals for BG stamped images thus making her floral focus really "POP." Here is my impression of Stephanie's challenge:
7/27/18 Dawn McVey hosts this weeks Transformation Tuesday as she transforms an OK card into a spectacular new card. I would have to agree with Dawn in that her 2nd card really "sings!" I dug deep in my give-away stash of cards and came up with one that I had made back in August of 2015. I remember that I did not have the cover plate needed and created my own using my Silhouette. The "Thanks" sentiment along with the leaf spray was also cut with the Silhouette (the old card looks so primitive). And I used the only PTI floral set I had at the time...Bloomers. I have since added many florals to my PTI stash! My new card definitely makes me "sing." Nothing like having the "right" tools to work with. :)

Supplies: PTI Farmer's Market Florals/ ways to say thank you, Modern Background Stencils, PTI Dye Ink (Lilac Grace, Winter Wisteria, Plum Pudding, Aqua Mist, Ripe Avocado, Harvest Gold), Distress Oxide Ink (wilted violet, shaded lilac, dusty concord), Die- names Fab Foliage/Stitched 2 Window Rectangle Collage Frame, Stickles.
7/25/18 The July 2018 Blog Hop Inspiration photo is an ocean theme one with different shades of blues, red and white (almost patriotic). This is a busy piece but good in that you could work it any way you'd like. After last month's release with Betsy's large ocean stamps/dies collection (of which I purchased)...it was easy for me to create an ocean themed card. I chose not to go with the given color combo. I also tried a new technique presented at Unity Stamps by Heather Hoffman which uses Distress Crayons and reverse stenciling This is how I created my background. It is quite fun! Thanks for visiting and enjoy the Blog Hop!
Supplies: PTI Salt Air Fauna, Salt Air Flora, Salt Air Sentiments, Reef Builder Die Collection, Shape Shifters: Oval 2 Die, PTI Dye Ink, Distress Crayons, Gesso, Zig Clean Color, water droplets with bubble.
7/24/18 Lizzie has an easy challenge for this weeks MIM. She has her greeting repeated in the BG with one that stands out. This makes the greeting the focal point of the card. I decided to play with Lizzie's new Kit 'N Caboodle set as I am especially fond of kitties. My card is relatively simple but I like how it came out.
7/17/18 Stephanie hosts this weeks Transformation Tuesday as she changes the look of her cards by using a different color combination. I selected a card that I made back in March last year using the rainbow colors and the large Wish Big die cut. At the time I made my March 2017 card, I did not own any balloon dies nor balloon stamps. This year, I jumped at the opportunity when Heather Nichols' Birthday Balloons stamp set was released. It was easy to transform my rainbow hexagons into the more traditional birthday balloons. Having the "right" stamps/dies makes everything so much easier. Both of these cards make nice masculine ones, something I lack in my oodles of card creations.
7/16/18 Today's MIM is hosted by Melissa. Our challenge is to use die cuts as stencils. I have quite a collection of Mix & Mat dies so it was a given to select from this. I chose the Mix & Mat: Pretty Brackets to work with along with Betsy's Watered Rose. Here is the resulting card:
7/9/18 Laurie shares creating shadow backgrounds for this weeks MIM. She uses outline images in neutral colors and places the colored stamped images on top which really makes them pop. I decided to give her method a try using Glorious Globes. I am a late comer to this set and wanted to give them a try. I've selected the Glorious Globes February set which has flowers. Here's what I came up with:
7/7/18 Michelle Leone gives her older card a new fresh look staying with the original design. I think both are great!
I've selected an old card from the PTI June 2017 Blog Hop. I've always disliked the heaviness of the tulips in my mason jar vase. The tulips were so large that I had to go with an A6 size card base and the flowers still extend beyond this. Using Lizzie's Vogue Vases and Simple Stems took care of the bulkiness of my old card! I also used Betsy's technique of stamping ink/adding clear embossing powder on velum to create my vases. I am much happier with my new card and the old one is in my give-away pile.
