10/25/17 Supplies: MFT Santa's Elves, Stitched Rectangle STAX 2, 4mm Sparkle Clear sequins, Prismacolor colored pencils. My first try at MFT's Santa's Elves...this set is so adorable! I used Prismacolor colored pencils..love to blend with these tho' markers still work better for those tight spaces. >.< The sketch is turned upside down. I also masked off the elf to ink blend the background behind him.
10/25/17 Lizzie shows us a way to "glitz-up" our holiday cards thru the use of glitter on mats! And although this can be a messy process...it definitely adds perfect bling to any card. I decided to play with Nichole's Cutaway Tags: Winter. This set is amazingly easy to use with beautiful results. I added a white glitter cardstock background behind the cut-out and then a fine rose glitter for the scallop edges. The photo really does not show the sparkle of the glitter. Finally finished the card with To the Point Edgers 1Die (a first for this set as well) topped with a bow at the point. Supplies: PTI Cutaway Tags: Winter, To the Point Edgers 1 Die, PTI Dye Ink (Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Green Parakeet, Ripe Avocado, Scarlet Jewel), Spellbinders Scallop Circle, MFT Stitched Rectangles STAX 2, Stampendous Embossing Powder (silver), VersaMark.
10/25/17 Supplies: PTI Tinsel & Tags, MFT Modern Trees, PTI Bitty Dot Basics PP, PTI Dye Ink (Pure Poppy, Cocoa Bean, Honey Nut, Soft Stone, Stormy Sea), Distress Oxide (faded jeans, broken china, chipped sapphire, black soot), Zig Clean Color. I absolutely had a difficult time with this inspiration photo (really not my style nor color combination). I tried some watercolor background in the colors presented but it turned into one big mess. I decided to go with the house on the hill surrounded with red tree trunks. My night sky is ink blended which came out okay but not as dark as I wanted. I masked off the trees (sorry, from MFT) and used Zig Clean Color for the masked trees after; then stamped in the details. I ink blended Honey Nut/Cocoa Bean over yellow Bitty Dot PP for the hill. The house, deer and banner with sentiment are from Betsy's Tinsel & Tags kit. I am not quick at card creations but this card really took me a long time. >.< Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the October Blog Hop!
10/20/17 Supplies: MFT PI Nice List, Doodle Blossoms, MFT Tiny Hearts Brights/Graphic Grid PP, Copic Sketch. Finally got to play with my newest PI stamp (Nice List)! I did a bit of paper piecing to create her dress...always a challenge to get the parts nicely cut and layered properly. I have her standing on a large gift of chipboard wrapped in paper/tied with a ribbon. The PI little girl is not dressed in her traditional Christmas colors in order to use the current color challenge. But then...we are not into December yet (thank heavens).
10/18/17 This weeks MIM, hosted by Melissa, deals with building your own wreath with PTI's endless possibilities for embellishments! You could make a wreath card for whatever occasion. I chose to build a holiday wreath selecting Rustic Wreath for my base. I also wanted to use Brilliant Baubles for embellishing the wreath. I decided to go with a 5"x5" format as the card base. Putting together the wreath was fun tho a bit time consuming to make all the "bellies." Guess I should have used less since you can hardly see the wreath base underneath (oops). Supplies: PTI Rustic Wreath, Brilliant Baubles, Tinsel & Tags Sprig Stamp Set, PTI Dye Ink (Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, Ripe Avocado, Cocoa Bean), PTI Aqua Mist cardstock.
10/16/17 Supplies: MFT Jingle All the Way, Small Brick Wall stencil, Stitched Rectangles STAX 2, Hybrid Ink (Cherry Crisp), Distress Ink (pumice stone, walnut stain, tea dye), Copic Sketch, Fiskars border punch (grass), Nuvo Glitter Drops (Silver Moondust). My Santa is peering into the window of a house. I have added clear cardstock for a window-like appearance and raised the whole panel up with foam tape. I also turned the sketch vertically.
10/10/17 "Sentiment Windows" Dawn hosts this weeks PTI MIM and creates a wonderful holiday card with her sentiment peeking thru a window framed by snowflakes (my favorite). I dusted off a few of my older PTI Christmas stamp sets. I was happy to use the cute little mouse from Christmas Critters...paring it with a sentiment from Fancy Pants Holiday Sentiments and topping it off with a bow from Tinsel & Tags. :)
Supplies: PTI Christmas Critters, Fancy Pants Holiday Sentiments, Tinsel & Tags Sprigs Stamp Set, PTI Dye Ink (New Leaf, Ripe Avocado, Pinefeather, Pure Poppy, Spring Rain, Aqua Mist, Lovely Lady)
10/8/17 Supplies: MFT Bitty Bears, Stitched Collage Frame, Pop-up Alphabet, Drifts & Hills stencil, Snowflakes dies, Copic Sketch, Stickles (crystal). I am planning to send this card to my sister-in-law "just because" and she enjoys receiving my handmade cards. :)
10/8/17 Supplies: MFT Happy Hippos, Balloon Shaker Window/Frame, Balloon Shaker Pouch, Pop-up Numbers, Cloud stencil, Stitched Rectangles STAX 2, MFT Dye ink (Berrylicious, Daffodil), PTI Dye ink (Pale Peony, Winter Wisteria, Mint Julep), Zig Clean Color. Just had to do it even tho' I've seen something like this design made by the designers/others. This was my first at using the balloon shaker die/pouch...makes is so easy. This card is also for my granddaughter's birthday which we'll be celebrating next weekend. Her favorite color is PURPLE!!
10/5/17 Betsy has a great idea for us this week to make our own faux epoxy embellishments thru the use of multiple layers of clear embossing powder over die-cut images. This is a wonderful technique to use with the upcoming holidays! I've selected a couple of new sets from the September PTI release. The flower/foliage embellishments from Brilliant Baubles really stand out with a triple coating of clear embossing powder. I'm getting into the holiday mood already! Supplies: PTI Brilliant Baubles, Mix & Mat: Berry Boughs, PTI Dye Ink (Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy, Berry Sorbet, Scarlet Jewel, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado, Pinefeather), VersaMark, clear/silver embossing powders.
