10/31/18
Dawn has a fun way to make freeform backgrounds for this weeks MIM. She shows how dry brushed acrylic paints randomly swished across some CS makes for an interesting BG. I have to admit...this technique is addicting. And you can't stop at making one panel. While I only created one card, I plan to make some tags with my leftover swooshed acrylic painted BGs. :)
Supplies: PTI Merry Mug, Pierced Feature Frame Dies, PTI Dye Ink (New Leaf, Pure Poppy, Weathervane), MFT Dye Ink (Latte), Umbrella Crafts Dye Ink (Soft Sand), Folkart acrylic paint, Stickles, Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow Christmas PP, VersaMark ink, clear EP.

PTI MIM #340: Banner-ific!
10/26/18
Michelle hosts this weeks MIM as she challenges us to create a holiday banner. I have officially earned the title of "Banner Grandma" as this is my assignment when one of our grandkids is having a birthday. We have another granddaughter who will be turning ONE in the beginning of December. I had an idea in my head of what I was going to do, but my PTI shipment took awhile to arrive. I needed the Potbelly Penguin Die to complete the "smash cake" ONE banner. I dressed up the penguins with Santa hats from the Potbelly Santa Die and added earmuffs to the penguin in the middle as this matches the birthday invite. One banner done and the long one to go (11 paper rosettes/penguins still to make)!
Supplies: PTI Potbellies: Penguin Die/Santa Die, Sizzix Party Fans die, We R Memory Keepers Mini Alphabet Punch Board.

PTI October 2018 Blog Hop
10/25/18
Supplies: PTI Simply Gourd-eous, Pierced Feature Frame Dies, PTI Dye Ink (Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Terracotta Tile, Soft Stone, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado, New Leaf, Olive Twist), MFT Dye Ink (Latte), MFT Harvest Mouse (sentiment), Lawn Fawn Knock On Wood PP, My Minds's Eye enamel dots, Silhouette.
I drew inspiration from the chalkboard sign, bushel baskets and the pumpkins to create my fall card. I don't usually send out Thanksgiving cards, but I will this year since I have a stash building up. ;)
Enjoy the Blog Hop!

PTI Create Along With Us: October 2018
10/17/18
For this month's Create Along With Us, I have selected a
holiday penguin card by Laurie Schmidlin. I love what she
did using tone on tone with the new snowflake frame die.
And then she used die-cut snowflakes in white as a back-
ground...so much texture. Laurie's embellishments with
the red JOY die-cut and those adorable penguins are the
perfect "frosting on the cake!"
There were so many products in this month's PTI release.
I wasn't able to order the snowflake frame die nor the cute
penguin set due to a certain budget. Alas, I used what I had
in my stash and came up with this:
Supplies: PTI Snowfall Style/Winter Penguin/Mix & Mat: Snowflakes/Pierced Feature Frame Dies, MFT Die-namics Layered Snowflakes/Filled With Joy, PTI Dye Ink (New Leaf, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel), Copic Sketch, Studio Katia Snow Crystals.

PTI MIM #339: Patterned Frames
10/10/18
Ashley has a simple challenge for us for MIM this week; she
uses patterned paper/cover-up stamps to embellish die-cut
frames. I only have one Cover Up background stamp in my
stash (Quatrefoil). I embossed it with white EP on watercolor
paper. Then used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors
in the traditional greens/reds. I splattered some warm gold on
after. This does not show up in the photo but adds an elegance to the BG. I used an ornament from Brilliant Baubles as the focal point of my patterned frame.
Supplies: PTI Brilliant Baubles/Cover Up: Quatrefoil/Say It Simply: You & Yours Die/Pierced Feature Rectangle Frame Die, PTI Dye Ink (Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy), silver/white EP, Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors, gold foil CS.

PTI Transformation Tuesday #21
10/7/18
Lizzie heads up this weeks Transformation Tuesday at PTI.
Both of her cards are sweet holiday cards, but I have to admit
that I like her second one better. It is definitely easier to read
and I love the lighter colors plus the glittery bling of the words.
For my transformation this week, I pulled a card from May 2018.
I am very partial to using cool colors in most creations. I decided
it was time to get out of my comfort zone and use the warm colors.
I've used most of the same elements, but changed up my colors
and switched the orientation. I am happy with the way both cards
came out. :)
Supplies: PTI Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical Die/Sentiment Staples: Birthday, PTI Dye Ink (Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado), MFT Dye Ink
(Lemon Chiffon), MFT Bold Blossoms, Die-namics Stitched Rectangle Scalloped Edge Frame/Fab Foliage/Blueprints 28, Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear jewels, Stickles.

Supplies: MFT All Smiles Card Kit/Safari Friends, Die-namics
Stitched Rectangle STAX 2/Slanted Sentiment Strips, misc colored CS, VersaMark ink, black EP.
This is the other half of my first card...I had to make a second so I did not waste the pretty rainbow background made from 1/4" CS strips. :)

PTI MIM #338: Incorporating Packaging Dies into Your Cards
10/3/18
For this weeks MIM, Lizzie challenges us to use our packaging dies in a card creation. I decided to use two of
Betsy's past holiday kits for my card. I have two packs of
patterned paper from the Wonderland kit that are barely
touched. I made a couple of elves from the Holiday Pin-ups
kit into magnets. Then displayed them for the front of my
card with a die-cut from the Wonderland PP. I used the
Jumping for Joy Card Die to tuck the magnetic elves into
a pocket. My recipient will not only receive a handmade
holiday card, but also a couple of cute magnets for future use. :)
Supplies: PTI Holiday Pin-Ups/Wonderland kits/Jumping for Joy Card Die, PTI Dye Ink
(Sweet Blush, Cocoa Bean, Aqua Mist, Tropical Teal, Summer Sunrise).
