PTI December 2016 Blog Hop

12/26/16 ** Nicole has found a fun and cheery non-
traditional colors Christmas wrap photo for this months
Blog Hop. You could go in all directions from this
intriguing photo. Being that I was pressed for time
this month...I chose to create something simple. I used
washi tape to capture most of the colors for a background.
Then used an oval die and dropped in a Christmas tree
from PTI All thru the House plus a die cut (and layered) -
PTI "thanks" die. Finished off the card with foam mount
a gold star, rhinestones, and some pink twine.

DETAILS:  PTI All thru the House, "Thanks" die, PTI
Aqua Mist dye ink, Tropical Teal cardstock.
Misc: Washi tape, Lawn Fawn stitched oval die, clear
embossing powder, gold yardstick, pink twine.

Sorry about the same boring layouts...I still haven't got the hang of my
uncooperative "ap" to change things up a bit. :(

PTI MIM: Holiday Photo Cards

12/19/16 * Ashley has a cute idea for this weeks MIM!
She uses a photo and some clear cardstock to create her
own photo beautiful greeting card.
I like the idea of using clear cardstock as an overlay for
a card and had fun creating my own design! The hardest
part was finding a good photo of all three of our cats together.
Ha, ha!

DETAILS: PTI What the Doodle Snowflakes, Jingle All the
Way Die set, clear cardstock.     Misc: Paper Source Cover
(Pool), Stampin-Up scalloped border punch, silver embossing
powder, silver sequins.

PTI Create Along With Us, December 2016

I selected Kay Miller's anniversary card for my inspiration for this month's Create Along with Us challenge. I love her use of bright
and cheery colors along with her clean style!

I created my own heart wreath by piecing together 3 stamp sets ...
a lot of work but the resulting image paid off. I really was trying to make an anniversary card too but never seem to have the right sentiments in my stash (very frustrating). TFL ;)

Details: PTI stamp/dies - Scene It: Celebration, Christmas Faith, Tag Sale Quilted Die, Sunshine & Rainbows Mini kit, Simple Gift Bow die.   PTI Modern Background stencil.   PTI Dye inks - Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Amethyst Allure, Blueberry Sky, Spring Rain, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado.

PTI MIM: Embossed and Outlined Backgrounds

Betsy hosts this weeks Make It Monday with an interesting
challenge! She uses embossed stamped images and then
outlines them with Copic markers making the images "pop"
even more.
Here is my version of Betsy's technique...the card came out surprisingly simple (for me) but I like the end result. ;)

Details: PTI Shine/Fancy Pants Holiday Sentiments, PTI Pure
Poppy dye ink, silver/white embossing powders, Copic sketch
B00 Frost Blue, Spellbinders square die, Paper Source Cover
stock (Red/Pool), silver sequins, 1" silver organza ribbon.

PTI MIM: Double Layer Tags

11/28/16 * Dawn McVey shows us how to create
some double layered tags just in time for Christmas!
Love the red/aqua/green color scheme she uses...
seems to be very popular this season. :)
I created some snowman tags with Betsy's Holiday Hugs
mini kit and PTI's new Basic Cut Tag/Window Cut Tag for
the layering. I used patterned paper to die-cut the hats
making the assembly process much easier than stamping
each individually.
I will be all set to wrap when I get there...still have some
shopping to do. ***TFL

PTI November Blog Hop

11/25/16 * Thanksgiving is done and now it's
onward to Christmas 2016! Nichole has selected
a Christmas tree with non-traditional colors as
our Blog Hop challenge. Aqua, fuchsia, lime green, gold...gorgeous together on the white tree. I have begun stitching felt ornaments for my family again
this year using Erin's Stitched Ornament: Classic
Die. Decided to make up one using felt colors in the
photo and accenting stitching with gold DMC floss,
adding a gold ribbon and gold bell to finish off the
ornament.

Thanks for stopping by :)

PTI Create Along with Us, November 2016 Release

I selected one of Betsy's designs with which to
draw my inspiration. She always inspires me and
I love this card because of its simplicity (yet so
stunning). Of course I did not purchase either of
these two stamp sets and had to "wing" it on my
own. My version of "happy birthday" was done with
my graphics program on my Mac and I decided to
use PTI Holiday Greens set for the focal point. I
have a couple of December birthdays coming up so
this card will come in handy! :)

DETAILS:
PTI Holiday Greens stamps/dies, Christmas Critters
Sentiments, Holiday Hugs dies, Tag Sale Quilted Die.
PTI Inks: Pure Poppy, Olive Twist
Misc: white embossing powder

PTI MIM: Assembly Line Card-Making

11/7/16 * Laurie gives us some helpful hints to create
multiple cards for the Christmas season. In our home,
we send out photo greeting cards so I made some
Christmas gift tags instead. I have always wanted to
make gift tags with the PTI Winter Snow Globe set.
So I was very happy when Laurie's challenge was to
make multiples of cards (or tags ??). Now I have
some usable tags...along with the gift wrap I made in
the last MIM...all set to wrap EXCEPT for the shopping.
Ugh! The Christmas season is upon us...so much to
do. :(

DETAILS: PTI Winter Snow Globe stamps/dies, PTI
Tag Sale #4 die, JudiKins white embossing powder,
Copic Sketch markers, Wink of Stella (clear, red),

PTI MIM: That's A Wrap (10/31/16)

Designing wrapping paper with stamps is Lexi
Daly's fun challenge for us this week for MIM!
I wanted to use kraft paper but ran into a
problem when I couldn't see the template lines
thru the paper. So I decided to use some washi
tape to give me some lines to follow. With some
nice hand-stamped paper and a tag to match, I
just need to find the perfect gift to use it on. :)

DETAILS:

PTI Stamps/dies - What the Doodle: Snowflakes

PTI Dye Inks - Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, New Leaf

Gave "That's A Wrap" another try...this time using
white paper. I discovered that using a larger stamp
design (Spruce and Sprigs) does not show much covering a small box. This is unfortunate because I
like the way the paper turned out. An 8.5 X 11 inch paper doesn't wrap a very large box. :(

PTI MIM: Layered Dry Brushing

10/24/16
Lizzie Jones presents an interesting technique for this
weeks Make It Monday challenge. The layered dry
brushing adds light color, texture and interest to
a background. I like the fact that you can stamp over
the background with stamp color/image still showing
up clearly. I tried dry brushing paint on watercolor paper
and on PTI linen cardstock. I liked the lighter color
on the linen cardstock better for what I had in mind to
do. I will be adding this technique towards future cards!
Love that cute little mouse from Christmas Critters...had
to try him out. :)

DETAILS:
PTI Stamps/dies-Christmas Critters, Christmas Critters
   sentiments, Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles.

PTI Inks-Stormy Sea, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst,
Pure Poppy, Mint Julep, New Leaf, Pinefeather,
   Spring Rain, Cocoa Bean.

   embossing powder, Silhouette, FolkArt acrylic
paint (light blue), Wink of Stella (clear), 3/8"

PTI October 2016 Blog Hop

10/25/16 * PTI October Blog Hop challenge is to use the colors/elements from this photo that Nicole has selected. My music background is made from music washi tape rubbed with Distressed Ink "tea dye" for an aging effect. I used watercolor paper with Clean Color markers sponged over with tea dye ink to soften the brightness; then die cut with Cottage Cutz Christmas Candles. The greens are from Holiday Greens stamped in various shades of green. Frame was sponged with three PTI green inks and then cut from We R Memory frame punch board. "Merry" is cut from gold cardstock and a Hero Arts die plus layered twice for dimension. Stickles yellow was added to candle flames. And a "pop" of red is achieved with a bit of red sheer ribbon to tie everything together. Whew, think I covered most of the
elements and colors?!! TFL :)

DETAILS:
Stamps/dies - PTI Holiday Greens; Cottage Cutz Christmas Cheer Candles; Hero Arts Merry Stamp/Cut.

PTI Dye Inks: Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Pinefeather,
New Leaf, Aqua Mist, Mint Julep.

Misc - We R Memory Keepers frame punch board, Zig Clean Color markers, Distress Ink (tea dye), Stickles yellow, 1/4" red sheer ribbon, music washi tape.

PTI Make It Monday: Die-Cut Stencil Shapes (10/17/16)

Melissa Phillips uses die cuts as stencils in this weeks MIM challenge. Using die cuts as stencils and applying ink with a sponge blending tool creates a beautiful softness that is characteristic to Melissa's style.  I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Snowflakes for my stencil shapes since I have not received my October order from PTI yet (was planning to use What the Doodle Snowflakes). I paired two PTI stamp sets for the rest of the card drawing my inspiration from a sample from the Christmas Tree Change Up stamp set (looks like one by Melissa too). Love that little polar bear from Warmest Wishes! TFL!

DETAILS:

Stamps/Dies - PTI Warmest Wishes, Christmas Tree Change Up (stamps and box die); Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes and Stitched Hillside Borders.

PTI Dye Inks: Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky.

Misc - PTI Linen cardstock; embossing powders (Zing Gold Glitter & JudiKins White Diamond/black); natural flax linen; clear sequins

PTI Create Along With Us/October 2016

My inspiration for PTI's Create Along with Us October 2016 release comes from Betsy's beautiful wreath Christmas card! I love everything about it.
While I don't own the Sprig Wreath stamp set yet...I had to think out of the box once again using what I have in my stash. That meant pulling out my Rustic Wreath stamp/die. I dressed the wreath up with Christmas Faith greenery trying out Betsy's double stamping method with Green Parakeet/Ripe Avocado inks (love the "in-depth" effect this gives).
The rest fell into place quite naturally.

Thanks for stopping by!

PTI Make It Monday: Pumpkin Stamps 3 Ways (9/26/16)

Ashley heads up this weeks MIM in challenging us
to use our pumpkin stamps in 3 different ways:
"traditional, trendy, and unique."  I don't know if my
cards strictly fit all her categories but I gave it my
best shot.  All my cards were made using PTI
Spooky Smiles stamp/die set and various other
PTI products (too many to list separately).

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Halloween !! :)

         "traditional"                                  "trendy" (shaker card!)                              "unique"
