4/28/19 Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: Favorite shaped card Laurie's WIW challenge for us this week is a fun one, especially since I don't tend to think of changing out the shapes of my cards much. I've created a card base using the largest MFT Die-namics Mod Square STAX die. It is a very simple birthday card made with a basic card concept.
4/22/19 Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Favorite coloring technique: Watercolors There are so many ways to color stamps and even more so with outline stamps which PTI does not seem to have many (or at least I do not have in my PTI stash). Over the years of following Make It Mondays, I love the coloring technique of inking your stamp, spritzing it with water and then stamping it on watercolor paper. This is a good way to "cheat" creating a watercolor look and does not matter if you do not get your layered stamp images perfectly lined up. I created a BG using PTI Farmer's Market Florals for a Mother's Day card. :)
4/14/19 Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: Favorite style ("shabby chic") I don't really have any particular style that I use frequently. I probably enjoy more techniques that are my "go-to's." One of them is creating backgrounds with ink blending. I tend to make my card creations with simplicity in mind... probably stemming from my Japanese heritage. I have created an anniversary card for my hubby...since we have one coming up after Easter.
Supplies: PTI Circle of Love, PTI Dye Ink (Fresh Snow, Weathervane), DOI (squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, peacock feathers), MFT Die-namics Stitched Rectangle STAX 2, VersaMark ink, white and silver EP.
4/5/19 Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: Favorite place for inspiration I use Pinterest too, like Laurie...for an inspiration source. That being said, I've found an Easter wreath that I thought would work with a few of my PTI stamps/dies. And of course, I had to add Heather's cute little bunny. :)
4/1/19 Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: Make It Monday It is Spring and my orchids are in bloom! I have selected MIM #329: Creating Stencils From Die Cuts with Melissa Phillips. My challenge for myself was to see if I could mimic my orchids with PTI's Orchid Expressions. Basically, I CAS'd Melissa's beautiful card. Didn't quite capture the color of the actual orchids, but it's as close as I could get it.
