PTI MIM #313: Mask & Stack

Betsy hosts this weeks MIM at PTI with a masking challenge.
I looked high and low in my stash for the "right" image that
would work for Betsy's challenge. I found very few animal
images (something PTI is lacking in their stamp designs). I
don't even have a PTI butterfly stamp. :(  I finally decided to try Nichole's Warmest Wishes with the polar bear. My card seemed so plain after stamping/masking the polar bear 5 times...even with a stenciled snowflake BG and a snowdrift.
After adding a few embellishments...I liked my card better.
I printed my own sentiment from my computer onto the card.
I also did not want to use balloons or Easter eggs even tho
I have the dies/stamps. Hope everyone else has an easier time with this challenge than I did.   ;)

PTI February 2018 Blog Hop

Our inspiration photo for the PTI February 2018 Blog Hop

is a festive Easter setting in beautiful pastel colors and all 

the Easter elements in its glory.

I've tried to capture the airy feeling of Spring/Easter creating

my bunny scene. I barely received my newest shipment from

PTI in time...as I was waiting for Heather's newest bunny to

use in my scene. In the meantime, I sponged in some clouds

and created grass with my Fiskars grass border punch. I 

wanted an authentic Easter egg dye look with splattering for

the paper eggs. I sponged 6 Distress Oxide ink colors onto 

watercolor paper...spritzed it with some water...splattered

some white paint...then dye-cut the eggs. They came out looking pretty close to real dyed eggs.

MIM #312: Framing Sentiments & Images
I love Laurie's challenge for us today using frames to high-
light sentiments/images! I sponged rainbow colors at a diagonal onto Stamper's Select white CS and die-cut a frame using the Mix & Mat: Confetti die. My BG was created by
tone-on-tone ink/kraft CS with the balloon stencil. I finished
up adding some white balloons and a sentiment from Ombre
Sentiments: Birthday. I wanted the only color to come from
my rainbow frame. :)     BTW, the glue behind my sequins is
not dry yet...we are having some winter here finally in SoCal this week with day temps in the 50's and lows in the 30's (yikes).

     I did not quite make the 20 minute start to finish time...but
this card came together quickly for me. I won't lie...how about 1 hour?!! My cards usually take me a minimum of 3 hours as I am a meticulous, detail oriented, SLOW worker. All the elements are die-cut from patterned paper with only the sentiment being stamped.

Color Challenge

So many beautiful cards today from the PTI DT! I've
selected Keeway's color combination. Love her soft colors/
style. Couldn't quite replicate the feel of Keeway's card,
but here's what I came up with.

Use Only Dies - No Stamps! Challenge
I CAS'd Melissa's sponged BG making my own stenci from the Brushed Off: Rectangles
negative. I dusted off my old Easter set by Heather Nichols to die-cut Easter shapes. The eggs are cut from the Echo Park Celebrate Easter PP and embellished with Stickles/jewels.
And of course, I had to add googlie eyes to the chocolate bunny. I am looking forward to
Heather's new and improved Easter set coming out in the February release!

Floral Challenge

I selected Nichole’s Especially You stamp set for my floral. And this is my first time using
this set even tho' it's been sitting in my stash for quite awhile. This large floral mum is
tedious to color but well worth it as it is so stunning when done...and the card comes
together quickly in the end. :)
