Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: September Case

I have CAS'd one of Laurie's gorgeous cards made with the Peaceful Forest stamp set and the Splendid Snowflakes Border. I did not purchase the forest stamp set since it was too similar to the Enchanted Forest by Betsy Veldman which was released last year. I love Laurie's colors and inked up my trees with similar colors. I also added a tiny dots embossed BG to resemble snow. The trees from Betsy's set are not as large as the new set but the effect is very similar. :)

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: Vellum

This week, Laurie challenges us to use our favorite way of adding vellum to a card. I must say that I have not colored on vellum as Laurie has. This creates a beautiful almost stained glass effect. I'll have to give this a "go" soon. I use vellum many times to add my sentiment, especially if my card is very busy or has a nice BG. The vellum sentiment also adds texture and a layer to the card as in the one I made for this challenge. I CAS'd a card created by Kelly Lunceford for the August release. Love her colors!

I have created this card to give to our oldest daughter and her hubby who celebrated their 10th anniversary a couple of days ago. :)

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: CASE

With the August 2019 release just last week, our challenge
this week is to CASE one of the many wonderful creations by the talented Ink To Paper DT! I bought the ITP Monsters die set because of Kelly Lunceford's Monsters Inc fun tent-style packaging...just in time for Halloween. Thought this would be cute to give to our grandkids (5). I made the same 3 characters Kelly made tho' changed up my Boo by adding her little face in the purple monster's face. Just have to make a couple more...Mike is the easiest to whip up. ;)

Sparkle, Glitter & Shine = BLING in my books! And I'm with
Laurie that there is usually something "bling-y" in almost all of
my card creations. So to demo this challenge, I have created
 a shaker card with lots of "bling-y" shaker components not to mention the frame base created with "bling-y" Stampendous shabby pink embossing enamel. 💕

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: CASE Birthday Wishes

This weeks challenge is to CASE one of the cards the DT has created for the July 2019 release. There are so many beautiful examples to be inspired by. I really love Laurie's card and what she did with coloring that gorgeous floral die-cut. Of course, placing it on a black BG makes the die-cut "pop" even more. 

I selected a card by Michelle Leone. Her card is graphically simple but quite eye-catching. I achieved Michelle's "look" by embossing some 1' x 1' squares and then die-cutting some flowers out of felt. It's pretty much the same design tho' with different elements...since I don't have the particular stamp set Michelle used (yet).

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: Background Stamps

Laurie chooses background stamps for our weekly challenge. I love how most of her card is stamped with black ink and then she adds pops of colors with her florals. I have been meaning to try this technique but unfortunately, this did not happen on the card I created.

I love Laurie's summer flower card! It is a masterpiece of perfection down to the floral elements, color combo and layering. I think my favorite floral PTI stamp has to be Gran's Garden. And thusly said, I went to work creating my card.

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: CAS June Release Samples

I purchased ITP Simply Sweet: Thanks because I fell in love
with Melissa's inspiration using the set. Her work is gorgeous
any ways...light and airy with the most beautiful combinations
of pastels. My card doesn't quite have her touch but I think
I used her technique to color the wreath. I used watercolors
to color the background behind the white embossed flowers.
Also sprinkled some Stampendous shabby pink embossing
enamel on top of the flowers (tho probably too heavy handed). I added yellow pops of color for the BG with the
PTI hexagon stencil. Lastly, I offset the oval with wreath embellishment to make room for the bow which always gets caught in the envelope when it is too close to the card edge :)

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites: Framed Sentiments

Barely got this one under the wire...I seem to be losing my
creative zest. Alas, I felt the need to use my newest stamp
set from Ink to Paper. The Many Anemones set is a joy to
use since you don't have to be so precise about the layers
and they look great even if things are a bit quirky. I'll be
making more cards with this user friendly set. ;)
