MFT Color Challenge #66

3/27/17 ** I used MFT's Doodle Blossoms
for the second color challenge for March. I
finally have an outlined stamp floral in my
stash! My inspiration came from Barbara
Anders sample for the stamp set tho I colored my blossoms with color pencils (Prismacolor)
on kraft paper with gold embossing. The blossoms
look so different depending what you use to color
them in with! ;)

PTI March 2017 Blog Hop Challenge

3/25/17 ** Gorgeous colors of blooms are the inspiration for
the March 2017 Blog Hop! And Nichole is right about how this
could go in so many directions. It was obvious to me that I
should use the PTI Floribunda frame die (my first use). I used
PTI dye inks of similar colors yielding the card below.
I decided to make a second card cutting only half of the
Floribunda die. I added a circle shaker picking up the colors in
the photo through the sequin fill. I finished off with a few felt
flowers for embellishment. I was thinking more along the lines
of the photo with the light aqua background for this card.
     TFL and Happy Blog Hopping!

**PTI Floribunda frame die, Love die, Circle Shaker die,
Color Pop Floral dies, Button Stacks 1.
PTI dye inks: Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian
Shores, Tropical Teal, Spring Rain, Enchanted Evening,
Stormy Sea.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #325

3/24/17 ** This is MFT Wednesday sketch and I have drawn inspiration from Amy's adorable tiger shaker card. I love making
shaker cards! I've had MFT Deer Friends stamp/die set since
before Christmas and finally got a chance to play with it. I found
that I have no speech bubbles in my stash so I used a sticker
instead. Totally enjoyed making this card!

Thanks for visiting and I do appreciate your comments! ;)

PTI MIM: Window Chipboard Sentiments

3/22/17 ** Stephanie presents a different twist using the
negative from die cut sentiments as a window for the
sentiment which is built up resembling chipboard. I learned
that not all die cut sentiments are "created equal!" My first
"thanks" card would not cooperate with its window with its
curly-Qs getting caught on its layered sentiment...no matter
what I did. I finally just cut a rectangle window around the
thanks because I didn't want to throw the card out after all
the work that went into it (a good save).

My second card was much simpler with the "HAPPY" die being block style. Wow, what a difference...Stephanie's technique actually worked for me! :)

**PTI Sunshine & Rainbows mini kit, Petite Pots, Tag Sale Quilted die, thanks die, misc. dye inks.   Misc: Lawn Fawn happy, happy, happy die.

the rainforest. Ha, ha...great fun. :)

PTI 10th Anniversary Challenge: Transform

3/14/17 ** I had created this triangle shapes card a couple of
days ago for PTI's Multiply challenge and wasn't very happy
with the end results. It is very simple and I had to resist from
doing more after getting the basic elements down. So I made
another card today for the current "Transform" challenge...
still using basic shapes for elements. But instead of using
ordinary PP, I sponged my rainbow colors using two shades
of each color on each of the punched out hexagons. Still keeping the basic card simple, I felt better about the end result.
Ok, maybe there isn't a huge difference but I am happier.
I have to keep telling myself, "Simple is better!" Besides, these make wonderful masculine cards (an area where I'm lacking). :)

**PTI Wish Big die, Modern Background Stencil,
PTI dye inks (too many to list).  Misc: Stampin-up hexagon punch.

PTI 10th Anniversary Challenge: Build a Birdhouse

3/13/17 ** Todays challenge is to build a birdhouse from a template designed by Nicole. I love it!! It is always so refreshing
to paper craft a project other than a card. Thanks Nicole! ;)

**PTI Winter Woods, Tiny Town: Scallop Shingles die, PTI
dye inks: Pure Poppy, Harvest Gold, Stormy Sea

PTI 10th Anniversary Challenge: Multiply

3/13/17 ** I finally got around to meet PTI's Multiply challenge!
I used PTI Triangles die to create my card and filled in the triangles with colored paper in a rainbow order. It turned out
to be a "simple" design for me as this is not usually my style.
The "HAPPY" sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Happy, Happy,
Happy stamp/die set. I took advantage of taking my card photo in our California sunshine today. :)

I did forget to mention where I drew my inspiration for
this challenge. It is from Keeway's "Hello" card; I love the
colors she selected for her triangles and "pops" of gold.

PTI 10th Anniversary Challenge #3: Favorite Florals

3/12/17 * I have selected PTI Painted Petals as my floral set.
I just received this set along with the matching dies and it is
becoming a favorite of mine quickly. One can never have too
many florals as I am finding out and I'll be needing to add more of these over 2017. Thanks for visiting & enjoy your Sunday!

**PTI Painted Petals, Bunny Basket (sentiment), Vertical A2
Scalloped dies, PTI dye inks, Pale Peony cardstock.
Misc: Stickles, hemp string, MFT stitched tiny tags 2, score board.

PTI 10th Anniversary, Challenge 3

3/7/17 * Lexi is the Planner Ambassador and has wonderful
ideas if you keep a planner (so popular these days). Well, my
4 kids are now adults and out of our home so my schedule has
been simplified greatly. I could have used one of these when
my kids were growing up!

Our challenge is to make a "cheer-up" card with matching
envelope to send off in the "snail mail." I decided to try Lizzy's
MIM technique again with nail polish marbling, this time with
some fresh nail polish. It's so much fun and you never know
what the results will look like. So I used pink, yellow and light
green nail polish...came out very bright. I finished up the card using the flower in PTI Baby Button Bits to try to tone things down a bit. I've also been
enjoying my vintage buttons I bought off the PTI Anniversary sale in January. The
envelope has a wrap around address label made of the same marbled paper as the
card inside.     TFL and have a great day!

PTI 10th Anniversary, Traveler's Journal

3/8/17 ** Heather is the Ambassador for her Traveler's
Journal and has so many ideas for creating small journals!
While I don't travel much...I do still scrapbook (a hobby which
came before I got into card making). Often times, I include
small journals in my LO. This allows me to tuck more photos
of whatever my pages are about without having to create
another LO.

I lost my cat of 17 years, 8 months at the end of January
this year and to help me bring closure...I decided to create
a LO as my tribute to him. I keep a separate cat album.
This is the little journal I made with photos of Tarzan when
we first got him. I used PTI Vertical A2 Scalloped dies to
create my cover and the book. It is so hard to say "good-
by" to a much loved pet...I still miss him. :(

PTI MIM: Nail Polish Marbling

3/6/17 * Lizzie hosts this weeks MIM and she has a crazy challenge for us using nail polish
in water on paper. Sounds messy but I was intrigued. The results are AMAZING even tho
my nail polish I had on hand is old. I'll have to give it second try with fresh nail polish. Being that the background is quite bold, I decided to use just half as PP. The colors I used reminded me of the ocean and thus became a home for my whale from PTI Keep Swimming. TFL  ;)

PTI 10th Anniversary, Packaging

2/6/17 ** Rebecca hosts the 2nd challenge for PTI's 10th
Anniversary celebration. She has some very pretty ideas
to present our gifts that go beyond card making.

Here is my take on the challenge. I have made a treat bag and decorated it with a shaker tag.

**PTI Basic Cut Tag/Window Cut Tag dies, Bunny Basket
Misc: We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag Punch Board, Little-
B Washi tape.
