MFT Color Challenge

2/23/17 ** Decided to try a color challenge
by MFT...and I wanted to try out my new MFT butterfly card kit I just received today
(awesome kit). I'm ready for Spring and SoCal sunshine...butterflies are just the medicine for my wish. :)

**MFT Butterfly Card Kit, Lemon Chiffon cardstock, vellum, Stencil Star Grid,
Wonky Circles dies, 4mm Clear Droplets.
PTI dye inks: Harvest Gold, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Stormy Sea

PTI MIM: Kraft and Colored Pencils

2/27/17 ** Melissa has a great tip for this weeks MIM using
colored pencils on kraft paper. I forget about using my colored pencils usually grabbing my Copics instead...so this is an excellent challenge to make me use them. I ran into a
problem tho since I have very few outline only stamp sets in
my stash...none of which were florals (own 4 PTI florals sets).
The only one that seemed like it would work was Winter Hills.
It's a bit small to use colored pencils but here it is.

**PTI Winter Hills, Double-Up Rectangles, Vintage Buttons
(New Leaf).

MFT Sketch Challenge, 2/22/17

I've decided to try one of MFT Sketch challenges this week,
partially because I wanted to try out one of my new stamp
sets. I love Birdie Brown's cute whimsical stamp sets! And I
love kitties...we have a couple (an orange/white tabby and a
one grey/black/white tabby). I placed some clear card stock
under the punched out window to make it more sturdy...looks
like the kitty is peeking in through a window. :)    TFL!

PTI February 2017 Blog Hop

2/25/17 ** Today is PTI's February 2017 Blog Hop and we are
challenged once again with one of Nicole's unusual photos for
inspiration. I love the rich colors in this photo...dark grey with
pops of deep purples/pink/gold. My second source of inspiration
comes from Betsy's WTD Paisley card. I used her technique &
colors. Here's my take on the two...

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

** PTI WTD: Paisley, Banner Style. PTI dye inks: Hibiscus
Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Amethyst Allure, Royal Velvet.
PTI A2 Vertical Scallop die set.
Misc: Cuttlebug EF (herringbone).

PTI 10th Anniversary, 2016

2/20/17 ** Today we are celebrating 2016 and marks
the final day in PTI's 10th Anniversary celebration.
I finally have one of the stamp sets selected (Tulip
Time), YAY!! I drew my inspiration from Amy's card
where she uses frames as a background (a MIM I
missed but have been wanting to try). My card ended
up being a "Congratulations" card too since I have
decided I will send it to someone I know who will be
graduating from pharmacy school in May.

A note of THANKS to PTI for the past 10 days of celebration!
My stamp/die sets would probably just collect dust without
PTI's continuous inspiration/challenges. I've enjoyed the whole
week plus!!

**PTI Tulip Time, Banner Style.  PTI dye inks:
Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Raspberry Fizz, Green
Parakeet, New Leaf.

PTI 10th Anniversary, 2015

2/19/17 ** Almost to the end with PTI's 10th Anniversary celebration and what a week it has
been! I was inspired today by You've Been Framed, Hexagon/Baker's Dozen, both of which I don't own.

I created my own hexagon window with a hexagon
die and used it to frame my favorite cupcake stamp.
Guess I should have sprinkled some glitter on the
frosting...I may just go back and do that. Feeling a
bit "blitzed" from the past 9 days of card creations. >.<

**PTI Baby Button Bits, Birthday Basics, Doily Details
dies. PTI dye inks: Sweet Blush, Harvest Gold, Mint
Julep, Plum Pudding, Aqua Mist, Spring Rain.
Misc: Stampin-Up Six Sided Sampler/hexagon punch,
Cuttlebug embossing folder, Zig Clean Color, MFT
Mini Stitched Tags.

PTI 10th Anniversary, 2014

2/18/17 ** Michelle Leone's sweet thank you card caught my
attention for today's 2014 challenge. I love her chalkboard effect with her sentiment surrounded by a colorful wreath.

I decided to create a home decor item instead of a card.  I've been dying to play with my new Tinsel & Tags kit which I am
extremely happy to now have in my collection. It is just loaded
with goodies. I am looking forward to making some ornaments with the kit, even tho Christmas has long past. TFL!

**PTI Tinsel & Tags kit, Sprig Wreath, PTI dye inks: Green
Parakeet, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado, Cocoa Bean.

PTI 10th Anniversary, 2013

2/17/17 ** Nothing like a rainy day to catch up on
your crafts! My inspiration today comes from PTI's
Petal Pusher stamp set. It was fun to dust off my
wooden Penny Black Mimi stamp and color her with
my Copic Sketch markers. I was into Penny Black
and Mimi/the Hedgehog stamps before I started with
PTI. I have to admit, I love PTI products but I miss
using all my other stamps that I've accumulated over
the years. I am actually a former scrapbooker turned
card maker.  ***Have a nice (dry) day! :)

**PTI Tag Sale Quilt die, Scene It: Skyscapes, Simple
Gift Bow die, Spring Rain dye ink, Bitty Dots PP, Linen cardstock.

Misc: Penny Black Mimi "Easy Rider," Lawn Fawn
Stitched Hillsides/Flower border dies.

PTI 10th Anniversary, 2012

2/16/17 ** Didn't have any of the sets selected from
2012 today but I got reasonably close to Hello Sunshine with a couple of sets I have. My photos have been coming out dark because I seem to finish them at night. Our days here in sunny California have not been very
sunny lately any ways...we are due for another BIG
storm coming in tonight! We need the rain but it gets
a bit tiring after awhile. We are so spoiled here in
California. >.<

** PTI Sunshine & Rainbows mini kit, Shine, Scalloped
A2 Vertical die, PTI Buttercup/Harvest Gold/Berry
Sorbet

PTI 10th Anniversary, 2011

2/15/17
I have combined the look of the Newsprint/Garden Variety stamp sets, but had to "think out of the box"
to achieve it since I own neither one.

Supplies: PTI Petite Places Home & Garden/Walk in
the Park, Tinsel & Tags die, PTI dye inks.
Misc: Lawn Fawn Rooting for You, Zig Clean Color,
Silhouette.

This is the first time I have used Betsy's Petite Places
to make a flat card. I have always created the little
scenes with her series. My "print" patterned paper is
thru a print file that I have on my Silhouette.

Happy card creating for the rest of PTI's 10th Anniversary. ;)

PTI 10th Anniversary, 2010

2/14/17 ** Okay...I am zero for four now in not having any of the stamp sets selected. Oh well! My inspiration today comes from Debbie Olson's simply beautiful floral cards from Beautiful Blooms II.

I used PTI Bloomers, Spruce & Sprigs & Swan'
Sational (sentiment). I really need to add more floral
sets to my stash as my Bloomers set is quite over-
used. Our oldest daughter's birthday is coming up
the first part of March, so it looks like my card will
go to her. The birthstone for March is Aquamarine;
so Aqua Mist is an appropriate color.

I have been giddy with delight with all the designer
cards that have been posted for each PTI year. It is
truly amazing what these ladies create. I can only
dream to be in this elite group one of these days...
TFL & Happy Valentine's Day! :)

PTI Celebrating the Past, Present & Future, 2009

2/13/17 * Wow! I really had to dig to find something that would
work for today's challenge. I was inspired by Geny Cassidy's
"patchwork" card on a kraft background. I used PTI XOXO and
Doodlebug PP to create my Valentine's card. The "HUGS" was
die-cut from a MFT die. Now all I have to left to do is to include
an inside note to my hubby so I can give it to him tomorrow. :)

RC SFYTT, February 2017

Here's my take on Reverse Confetti's SFYTT...a window card using
RC's cute Cured stamp set. The figures were fussy-cut since I didn't buy the companion die set. The piggies were colored with Copic markers. The inside background was watercolored with Zig Clean Colors; then die cut with MFT Wonky Stitched circles. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder (Honeycomb) for the front background since it reminded me of chicken wire...going for a "farm-scene" look.
        ***TFL  :)

PTI Celebrating the Past, Present & Future 2008

2/12/17 * Todays inspiration comes from Melissa Phillips' sweet baby card. I know quite a few babies due in April, May, and June ...including the arrival of our 4th grandchild! So I thought I'd
better get going on making some baby cards.

Come to find out, I did not get onboard with PTI until 2010. Baby Button Bits was one of my very first PTI stamp sets. This set has been useful for more than just baby cards...I love the cupcake!
Now that I have a stash of buttons from the PTI anniversary sale, I will have to make a couple more cards with this set.  :)

PTI Celebrating the Past, Present & Future: 2007

2/11/17 * I guess I didn't start with PTI in 2007
because none of the stamp sets look familiar to
me...maybe I will recognize some in 2008 ??!!

My inspiration comes from Dawn's card where
she uses Spiral Blooms, Zig Clean Color watercolor
markers for the solid parts of the flowers and then
stamps the details in with black ink. I love the crisp,
graphic effect she creates using this method. It is
absolutely gorgeous!

Here is my take on Dawn's card using PTI Painted
Petals, Zig Clean Color watercolors and some PTI
Cocoa Brown dye ink for detailing. Didn't quite get
the same effect but I do like the soft images created
by using the watercolor markers.

PTI Celebrating the Past, Present & Future: Favorites

2/10/17
My absolute favorite is Betsy's Petite Places series!
I have had so much fun creating all her little scenes
and placing them under a dome atop mason jars.
Everyone in my family received at least one of these
gifts from me at some point or another (had a real
production line going for awhile). I was very sad to
see Betsy end this line. :(

My decorated mason jars are scattered over my
workplace filled with various things where I can still
enjoy gazing upon them.

PTI MIM: Stamped Dangles (2/6/17)

Amy hosts this weeks MIM with her stamped dangles
following the trendy doodling technique. I needed to
make one more Valentine card and had fun trying out
Amy's challenge. I got lazy and made only the bunny
head from Nichole's Jump for Joy having made all the
other animals. It was also interesting digging thru my
PTI stamps to find the bits and pieces I needed to get
the job done. TFL! :)

PTI Holiday Hugs, Tinsel and Tags, Rainbow and Sunshine,
Jump for Joy, Scene It: Celebration, Vertical A2 Scalloped
   die.   PTI Mint Julep cardstock.
PTI dye inks: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Lovely Lady, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz,
   Soft Stone, Stormy Sea.
Misc: Stampin-Up heart border punch, Zig Clean Color.
